Poroshenko Puts On a Grand Show! Only Problem is That No One Wants to Show Up!

A debate without an opponent is a brand new election trend in Ukraine. Poroshenko brought only 5,000 supporters to the Olimpiyskiy stadium that can house 70,000. Zelensky didn't come, as promised. It's still unclear if the candidates will meet before the runoff. However, the distance swordplay continues.

Poroshenko sings, dances, and chugs energy drinks. Today, he finally turned into a showman and did a parody of the main character of Servant of the People.

Elena Erofeeva with the details.

An extract from the Servant of the People series, season 2 episode 14, The Mighty Truth: the President meets an IMF delegation, Pyotr Poroshenko's interpretation.

Pyotr Poroshenko, President of Ukraine: They also insist on a shale gas extraction monopoly.

- Shale gas extraction?

- But we don't have shale gas.

- You do now.

- But that's going to kill our land.

- They, international organizations, want us to decrease agriculture production by 50%.

- What about our agriculture?

- It must be reduced by 50%, and the wheat crop by 70%.

Poroshenko closely follows Zelensky's series and even learns some episodes by heart.

Pyotr Poroshenko: Dear friends, the dictate of the West has crossed all conceivable and inconceivable lines.

- With a deep sense of gratitude, I'd like to say go f* yourself!

The fictional Vasily Goloborodko is stronger than the real Pyotr Poroshenko. The President feels that and gets very nervous. He suddenly discovered that he's a gifted actor. Pyotr Poroshenko sings.

"I came but you weren't there.

You deceived me and stood me up".

Dances. Goes to the debate accompanied by a Ukrainian Nazi march. The President hugs his wife, daughter, and son.

"And we're saying goodbye to Mr. President as he enters the debate".

Poroshenko will be arguing with an empty stand. He knew that Zelensky wouldn't come to the stadium on Sunday.

Pyotr Poroshenko: "Here I am at the stadium, as promised. I'm here but you aren't".

The debate turned into a press conference. The audience was allowed to the stadium at the very end for 10 minutes only to take a group photo. Poroshenko's fans couldn't even fill a single sector. The President was skipping in front of empty seats with a megaphone and began singing the anthem.

The President celebrated the failed debate at a restaurant with his family with red wine and an energy drink, which his doctor prohibited him due to his diabetes. But the doping keeps him on his toes. After the concert, he attends a late night interview.

Pyotr Poroshenko: "Some supporters of Vladimir Zelensky want Ukraine to return to Russia, to the Russian Empire, to the USSR. That's not my way".

Once again, he divides Ukrainians into friends and foes and runs to Europe to get support. He presents his recent meeting with Merkel as his personal victory.

Pyotr Poroshenko: "We don't talk about that, but we must realize that it was one day after the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, lost her mother. Under normal circumstances, the visit would've been canceled. I'm extremely grateful that the Chancellor displayed such respect towards Ukraine".

Poroshenko puts his election interests higher than Merkel's personal tragedy. He even admits that.

Vladimir Zelensky watches Poroshenko's show on TV.

Vladimir Zelensky, Presidential candidate: "Mr. Poroshenko, I really want you to switch from "I hear you" to "I will do". A showman can become a President. But a President who became a showman is a sorry sight. The debate is on April 19th. Business is every day".

Once again, Poroshenko keeps talking about peace in Donbass, while funding the war and profiting off it for five years. According to Viktor Medvedchuk, due to Poroshenko's actions, the all-for-all prisoner exchange with Donbass has been suspended for 1.5 years.

Viktor Medvedchuk, Opposition Platform — For Life: "The all-for-all prisoner exchange can be carried out in 3-5 days if the President of Ukraine agrees to that. But he didn't".

Pyotr Poroshenko promises to tackle the political crisis in Donbass only after he gets reelected. He didn't care much for that the last five years.
