The Russian Ministry of Defence is not surprised to see the evidence that the chemical attack in the Syrian city of Douma in April 2018 was staged said the Spokesperson of the Ministry Igor Konashenkov.

He pointed out that any reasonable person can come to the same conclusion watching the footage allegedly filmed by the White Helmets in Khan Sheikhoun in April 2017. That performance led to the US' first missile strike against Syria.

"Over the last several years, Russia has repeatedly pointed out that sooner or later, the truth about the fabrications staged by the Western capitals will pave its way to light. Many incumbent senior officials in the US and Europe who were zealously urging the world to protect the ordinary Syrians from the terrible chemical attacks of the regime and sanctioned missile and air strikes against Syria will try to sweep the matter under the rug to avoid moral, political, and legal responsibility".

Konashenkov reminded that the provocations inflicted serious damage on international relations. The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons assumed attributive meaning prosecutorial functions that allows the West to deliver missile strikes against any state without a UN Security Council approval. Igor Konashenkov also hopes that the producer of the BBC Channel who exposed the staging of the White Helmets manages to avoid prosecution and provocations from those whose interests he harmed.
